The Huron 100 was born out of Dan Hughes’ communion with the trails during the early days of the pandemic.
What started out as a curiosity - “I wonder if I could patch together enough trail miles to put together a 100 miler…” became an obsession. Things escaled when Dan took to the woods for a solo 100 miler (you read that right) to test his course. His experiment resulted in a spritual experience that we are sharing with our fellow dirtbaggers this May.
This 100 miler is a point-to-point course that starts at Portage Lake and finishes at Proud Lake, with romps through Waterloo-Pinckney, The Poto, and crossing the Huron River.
We will have a modest crew of volunteers to provide support along the way. Runners will have access to fresh water, snacks, balms, and hugs every 10 miles or so.
Interested in having friends / family crew for you? The more the merrier.
